Evidence before opinion
Every protocol we recommend is grounded in peer-reviewed chemistry, in-situ sensor data, and your site's actual operating history. If we cannot justify it with a number, we do not propose it.
M Aqua is a water-intelligence studio helping wellness brands, municipalities, and industrial operators treat, monitor, and optimise one of the planet's most precious resources — without compromise.
Our story
M Aqua was founded in 2018 by a small team of water chemists, environmental engineers, and software builders who shared one frustration: the world's most critical fluid was being managed with tools designed for everything except it. Treatment decisions were driven by intuition, sensor data sat in siloed dashboards, and compliance reporting consumed weeks of manual work.
We started by auditing mineral-bathing resorts in southern France and pharmaceutical water systems in Basel, then quietly built the diagnostic toolkits we wished we'd had on day one. Six years later, M Aqua partners with mineral-bath operators in 11 countries, municipal utilities on three continents, and process-engineering teams in semiconductor and food manufacturing.
"Water is the only ingredient we cannot substitute, dilute, or reformulate. Treating it with anything less than rigour is a choice — and a costly one." — Dr. Lena Marchetti, Founder
Mission & approach
From a 12-room thermal spa to a 40-megalitre municipal plant, the same rigour applies. These are the values our clients hire us for.
Every protocol we recommend is grounded in peer-reviewed chemistry, in-situ sensor data, and your site's actual operating history. If we cannot justify it with a number, we do not propose it.
Water does not exist in isolation. We model the relationship between source quality, treatment chemistry, guest or operator safety, energy use, and discharge compliance in a single decision framework.
Engagements begin with a baseline audit and end with quantified deltas — chemical consumption, downtime, compliance findings, or guest-reported water feel. We are accountable to the figures, not the hours.

How an engagement unfolds
Most clients move from first conversation to measurable improvement within 90 days. Larger municipal and industrial programmes follow the same shape over longer horizons.
On-site sampling across source, mid-process, and discharge points. We pair laboratory assays with your existing sensor data to build a quantitative picture of where chemistry, biology, and cost diverge from optimal.
Your data feeds a tailored water-mass-balance model. We simulate treatment adjustments, demand changes, and regulatory scenarios before recommending a single operational change.
We co-execute with your operators, engineers, and EHS leads. Every protocol ships with a written procedure, a training plan, and instrument-calibration guidance — never a black box.
Quarterly reviews against the agreed baseline, with the right to publish only what is true. We retire practices that underperform and double down on what moves the numbers.
The people behind the work
Our core team blends decades of operating experience in environmental engineering, clinical diagnostics, and applied data science. Together with a vetted network of regional partners, we deploy quickly without losing rigour.
